I've made a few posts on here and I've learned a lot but now I've been doing this for a while getting my information from reliable sources like wexler's PCGS NGC and silver Hound on YouTube along with Mike diamonds vast amount of literature..

Now with that said I believe the veterans with the most knowledge might be getting a little lackadaisical. Which is understandable because day in and day out getting on here and everybody posting coins that they think are something great but probably 97 to 98% are not.But guys come on, we just can't look at something and pass it off as PMD we've got to ask more questions and get more information about what's being posted rather than just giving a, " oh that's PMD".

I posted a coin on here the other day that I know is a struck through Greece coin, and I was told that It was a Dryer Coin. A Dryer Coin or coin-op machine removes material. And it does not spread out the devices of the coin to a three to four times larger format to what the original is.

And all I wanted to know is whether or not there was any possibility in the world that this could be from a double-capped die due to the fact that both sides display the same characteristics with the copper coating tucked up under the inside of the rim of the coin and the copper coating is not completely missing around the entirety of the rim on the edge of the rim it is fully intact all the way around it and there's spots are along the edge that still have the copper coating there there is no striations indicating that something folded the copper coating over and the weight and measurements are with intolerance or as for the weight is actually over slightly.

Here is a link to what I am talking about.
I hope it's okay to post a link to coin Community website and the conversation that take place. I posted pictures at the end of the thread showing the edge of the coin and all the measurements.

This proves my point everybody is telling him Machine Doubling on this coin even though wexler's has a listing for it. he needed to post the full front and back of the coin to verify. but he was a first-time poster and he'll probably never be back..

Here's the link to his post

My answer is still the same. Nothing is going to change it.

How would a double capped die decrease the diameter of a coin? Compare your coin to the examples posted by Earle42: click on --> Dryer Coin.

How would the diameter of a coin get decreased and still leave the copper coating on it do you not see the picture. On top of that it is within spec of the .75" so the diameter has not reduced. Nor has the thickness that is also within spec and so is the weight

I have 25 to 30 Dryer Coins this does not resemble Dryer Coin in any aspect there aren't any striations for markings indicating that it's been in a coin operated machine or dryer or anything like that if you look at it and read what I'm saying and look at the pictures please because there's nothing about this that resemble the Dryer Coin a Dryer Coin doesn't take the copper coating and move it to the inside of the rim and at the same time distort the devices in other words the wording the bust of Lincoln everything is enlarged while the coin itself stays the same size if it is distorted due to being melted the color would be completely different. And it's not distorted due to acid because copper is resistant to non-oxidizing acid and if it were oxidizing acid there would be a green oxidizing layer on it...
I'm beginning to think this site is a joke nobody is really giving any real kind of answers one person says something and everybody just agrees if it is a Dryer Coin then explain to me what I have previously mentioned numerous times because this is not a classic example of a Dryer Coin there are no characteristics of it if there is explain to me how. And mentioning the copper coating messing around the lip does not constitute explaining that it's a Dryer Coin because there's no markings from the copper being removed which it wasn't removed it was moved to the inside of the lip and the outer edge of the coin Still Remains the copper and all measurements and weight are within spec.

You're still wrong. The rolled edge is 100% obvious. Grease doesn't do that. Ever. Never has, never will..
