Hello there.

May I ask for assistance with this 1/2 silver tanka from Kashmir (5.13g, 29mm)?
I'm trying to find out the period or specific date.

Not from Kashmir, but a nice example of a half tanka of the Sultans of Malwa, Ghiyath Shah, AH 878-906 = AD 1473-1501, Goron/Goenka M76. I'm not able to read a date on it, but maybe another of our members can.

I think the dimension given of 29 mm is too big - is this the diagonal measurement? The edge length is reported to be 18-19 mm, and this is what should be stated.

Wow, many thanks for this check up. Indeed, the edge is 19mm as I had made a typo.

I've checked the numista reference and if I'm correct the date's second digit has to be 9 (as 5 can't be the correct one for this date range).
If so, the only option for the first and last digit is 8 so it would give us 898.

I think the date of 898 is a good deduction from a very limited partial date shown in the lower left corner of the first photo. I didn't see a date at all on my first look, but can see the partial date now.
