So, Strike It Rich says there is an FG variety for the 1989 Cent that is worth more than face value. Could this be it?

Just seeing an over polished die issue going on. It's the normal RDV-006 reverse that's been polished down. https://www.error-ref.com/thinning-...gn-elements/

This looks unusual to me. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Could be a stain, please post up a full coin image of both sides so we can have a overall impression of your cent.

The image of the FG initials was there earlier, but it's gone now. With the other picture, I am just seeing zinc rot and a stain.

He is referring to the 1989 DDR from Strike It Rich, WDDR-014.

I do not believe this post is a reference to the 1989 Reverse of 1988 cent, the floating die clash, copper planchet, or other varieties for that date.

Why was the original photo removed and replaced with
one that has nothing to do with the original post.

Correct, because the OP used the same filename again.

People can give their files meaningful and unique names when the upload them.
