I found a blank planchet both side of Lincoln Penny weighing 2.5 grams.

I will appreciate any inputs about this find. Thank you

According to the weight, it is a planchet for a copper plated zinc core cent.
They are not too uncommon, I think they used to give them to
visitors at one of the mints at one time.
Was there something specific you wanted to know?

We call this a 'Type 2 Planchet' because it has the proto rim created by the upsetting mill. If it were flat (with not proto rim, then we call it a 'Type 1 blank'
