I wanted to ask if anyone knows any websites that I could find out where this coin comes from ?
on the front it says repubica de panama and on the back it says medio centesimo de balboa and the date says 1907

It says right on the coin "REPUBLIC DE PANAMA"
so it is from modern day PANAMA.

I Googled your description and added the word Numista (the coin catalog website). Try that next time, it works pretty well.
