Hey all.

I am trying to see what makes a 1951 dollar a 5/5. All images I'm seeing of all variaties seem to all look the same.

Is mine a 5/5 ? What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance

I'd say, yes, the 5 has been repunched, but the offset seems a bit less than the CaC photo. Maybe a closer look at yours with better photo would make it sure, but I would call it a 5/5 myself. Yours also has some circulation dents/mars, but nice coin.

Yours is a SWL. Looking at the other numbers, it could be MD
The SWL 5/5 has a notch at the top of the 5 which yours doesn't show.
It is the FWL that has the 5/5 that looks similar to yours.

After seeing latest photo, I agree that it is a FWL 5/5.
Just shows what a difference proer photos can make.

Wrong (Also "canoo" is spelled canoe.)
SWL stands for short water llnes where no line touches the canoe as per my photo.
A single water line or one water line is known as "One WL."

It just came back from ICCS. Not a MS sadly but at least it is indeed a 5/5.

The good news of the day.

Can't comment on the grade as there is nothing to go by
but at least the variety has been recognised.
