I'm looking at some coins for my father-in-law, so I don't have my scope, but what do you think of this one, doubling or die chip?

There are some light die cracks on the obverse as well.

I would reflexively say die chip. However, there's a lot of squiggles under the chin, above the ear, and other places. Are those circulation knocks or was there a die clash?

Brandmeister; I'd passed them over as light die cracks, but they aren't circulation damage. I did set this aside labelled (Die Chip) for him, as it was at least interesting - I'll give it another look the next time I'm there. I'll have to make my own overlay it seems, but it does look plausible. Thank you, either way.

Thanks, Dearborn
