I am afraid I will be more questions than answers for quite a bit..
Here is another that I have acquired over the years. I do not even know if it classifies as a token, but it had some value to the man who kept it for many years. Perhaps only sentimental. It was in a leather pouch with some civil war era coins and a hard times token.
Searches are difficult, I have no words to work with. Back side is variegated but blank.
So, do you think it is a token, medal or a sentimental part of a charm bracelet?
I think I have some info' for you to work with. First, I think it's an English piece because of the disign on the reverse side (Diagonal lines), it is simmilar to the disign on an old key chain that I have from England (See Picture, the back of this key chain has the same pattern as in your piece). Your token might be an old key chain too. Secondly, The tree on obverse is a common theme in Jetons, medals and tokens from the Middle Ages up to the present times. This called "The tree of life".
