Two bidders were trying to win this? Either they thought it could be gold and took a chance, or maybe that ugly old purse is worth something?

What I wondered is , has anybody ever seen a fake $20 made of brass ?
Its notable the seller mentions a collector checked it out , I'm a collector and I couldnt tell you if its gold or brass.Do you see my point?
I just wondered how commen fakes of this nature are?

It should be simple to distinguish gold from brass in-hand- a brass coin will be significantly lighter than a gold coin. However, nothing in the way of design differences could actually be determined from those lousy pics...

lol, the pics were taken off ebay haha. Look, in my mind, you can sell anything as long as the description is correct. If it was indeed a brass fake I for one would love to have it to study.... but not for 72GBP!

What-Were-They-Bidding-On-?
Perhaps they were bidding on the session of Electroconvulsive therapy promised in the title?

I believe that it is a stylized representation of Greek or Roman coins

Ahhhh... its falling into place now , a bit like those treasure chests you see on ebay "full of treasure" and it is really a bunch of worn out wheaties.

Old looking purse , the coins dont really seem likely together to fit in with the purse, they span half a century.

Would'nt surprise me in the least if they were biddinbon the purse. You'd be surprised what an old purse can be worth.
