I'd welcome thoughts on whether this 1847 Hawaiian cent is authentic or just one of several varieties, please. It appears to be heavier than standard (9.6 vs 9.0g), and the rim and lettering seem a little thin, especially the second U of AUPUNI. Certified examples I've seen online have a thicker left-hand upright.
There seem to be (at least) two varieties of the king's collar, one with a V-shaped opening and another with a straighter gap, as in the example shown here. Positioning of the leaf ornaments in relation to the collar also seems to vary.
Lastly, the king's face looks quite similar to the version on 20th century brass souvenirs.
