I know that the mint marks sometimes are moved slightly from one die to another. Here is three different locations on 71 halves with one touching the neck. Any additional value in any of these?

Most of the ones I have of that year/mm are far from the neck (pictures 1 & 2) I quickly pulled ten from my send-backs and only two were close to the neck, almost touching, about like the third picture.

I have noticed this before, but this time when I saw the one that was almost touching the neck I went back to look at the others.
Other then being a variation of the mint mark location I don't think it matters much and I'm not aware of anyone collecting them.

Until the 1990s, dies for branch mints were hand-punched with the mint mark, and the size and location of the mint mark varied depending on where and how deeply the punch was impressed.
