First let me say, I do not clean coins. However, I received this one today and noticed something Green in the text. Is this corrosion? If so, any ideas how to get it off? Or should I even bother?

I agree. I think it looks perfectly fine. I would just leave it alone.

I don't see anything to worry about, I'd leave it alone.

Looks pretty good but there are some signs of verdigris (green).

Is this a bronze or copper coin? What is it's value?

If it's a low value coin, it's probably not worth messing with. If there is any significant value and is bronze/copper, forum member BadThad can help you with many good ideas.

Thanks for the advise, since this copper coin is only worth a dollar or two, I'll leave it as is.

All I can tell you is, it's a Dhinglo from India. More specifically from the Princely State of Kutch with the date VS2004 on the reverse, and 1947 on the obverse (see below).

The coin is copper with a diameter of 21mm, the legend on the obverse reads George VI. That is about all I know.

A little background, I've made a collection of circulated coins from around the world with the date of 1947 (my birth year). So far I've ID 318 coins and have 197 in my collection. Some like those from Palestine, I'll never get since there are 8 total known of the 4 denominations.

An old saying is Let Sleeping Dogs Lie. Messing with cleaning that coin could end up being a mistake.
