It was not I who committed this terrible crime against the natural order, but possibly some unknown silver crafter from shop class of yore, scavenging a scrap for a project unknown.
I shall post it nonetheless.

I present to you . . .

MS PAC-MAN Barber dime:

We lived in Scotland when my dad was in the Airforce,1963-1968. My mother brought an old mantle clock and a sock full of british pennies home. That mantle clock would get out of balance and my mom would stack up those pennies under the clock edges/corners. I remember that she would sometimes have 5 to 8 pennies stacked up under each leg! I remember also that on eof those pennies was dated 1861!

mysilveryears,
That dime and the cob fit perfectly together, don't you think it was the [intelligent] design?

It's kinda what Kiribati and Samoa did to their $50 (each),

And this brings us to the chapter Oddest Things Countries Have Done with Their Coins.

I used to use pennies for target practice. I still have some of them and just shake my head when I see them.

I embedded an 1887 Morgan in the center of a large, outdoor deck I put on. I enclosed it in a Cointain and carved out a circle just deep enough for it to be level. Glued it in the deck where it still sits today. I sold that house 10 years ago and had to explain to the new owners that even though the coin was BU it was not worth it to pry it out. They thought it was worth a small fortune ! Funny thing is last time I went to take a look at it, the son of the current owners had started collecting coins, telling me that having that Morgan dollar "stuck in the deck" sparked his interest. That made my day and I ended up giving him some Walkers and a couple of other coins to help start him off.

I might very well get a prize for doing the most disgusting thing anyone will admit to with coins on here...

I won a drinking bet by removing 14 baby dollars from my nostrils. They had been discreetly hidden there a few minutes earlier. (Yes, it can be done. However, no matter how many drinks you have, don't try this with dimes!)

Was putting a new floor down in my Uncle's office over the weekend. We had to replace a few sections due to water damage. I had some change in my pocket so after taking the old floor boards up and before replacing them, I put some of the change on a concrete slab that was underneath. Maybe somebody will find it down the road. Not really odd I guess but thought it was fun.

I used scrap large cents to make a couple DC bus bars for my solar panel project. Worked great.

If you have a magic shop in your area you just have to stop in and ask about coin tricks. Not sure if there are any one the internet but we have such a place not far from me. I've gone there and purchased a variety of 2 headed and 2 tailed coins. Also, a few other coin tricks made with real coins. Used to wonder why anyone would go through all the trouble to make those until I saw the prices on them. $25 for an Ike 2 headed dollar for example.

Buried some in cement, during construction, in a new foundation of the house for good luck!

Threw coins out of windows from tall buildings to see how many people would go out into traffic for them.

Many states have laws againt throwing anything from above a certain height.

Epoxy glue a coin on to the center of a street where there is a lot of traffic

An old trick for a buck's worth of lunch hour fun on construction projects was to spot weld a dollar to a steel beam. Another version: weld nail to coin, hammer into board.

Another good one for busy areas. Lay a quarter somewhere flat, put a drop of superglue on top.

Quote:
Always placed a coin on the bottom of where concrete is about to be poured.

Concrete workers used to put a cent in the middle of each section of curbing. Believe it or not, people would break them out, sometimes damaging things to the point where the curb had to be replaced.
