State Quarters With Split Earlobes.

I think both earlobes have been split so it is not a double earlobe coin. So what do we call these coins? When does a coin becomes a variety? Your comments please. junjiesalvador Valued Member Philippines 212 Posts	Posted 07/14/2009 6:15 pm Hi errorfinder. I did'nt mean that there is a doubled die here although I am not sure with the Virginia coin. The design seems like the earlobes have been sliced or the lower portion of the earlobe is separated from the main design. Here is a close up shot of the coin.
