I have a 1932 Half Crown and only one side is stamped, the other side is completely smoothe. The stamped side shows the shield with the interlocking letter "G". Any info would be appreciated.

My father in law passed away and we found two bags of old coins in his basement workbench. This coin caught my attention, I'm sure I'll have more posts as I search through the coins.1932-Half-Crown-Missing-Front-Impression 1932-Half-Crown-Missing-Front-Impression

It is impossible to strike a coin on only one side, two opposing dies have to be involved to strike a coin. Odds are that someone removed one of the faces, but pics will go a long way in determining what is going on.

It isn't immediately obvious that coin has been tooled , very smooth really.
While I think Biokemist is absolutely correct I'm not seeing it , maybe determing the weight is the way to put this particular puppy to bed ?
If it is the correct weight thats a whole new ball game.

Good point, after comparing it to a 1935 Half Crown, it's slightly thinner and weighs slightly less.

There ya go Stacie , somebody polished it ready for engraving probably , it should weigh: Weight: 14.1380g

If its noticably thinner you have your answer.
