Hi,

I am interested in knowing who will be attending the Brisbane coin show on the 19th through to the 21st of May. ( I think those dates are right?)

If so what day?

I'll be there, for all three days (though not on Sunday morning). The Brisbane area coin clubs are once again volunteering to man the club display area and the information booth, and I'm one of the co-ordinators of the club's activities.

Doh!
My darling wife has me going to Melbourne over that weekend for her sewing club, so I'll be missing out on the best coin show in Brisbane this year.

OUCH, that has to hurt.

Now that you mention it, I do remember you saying something about that when we last spoke. Look on the bright side Melbourne is a great place to visit.

Ok this years show has come and gone.

My thoughts, the dealers seemed to be better set out with much more varity, but somewhat more expensive then usual.

The Ram was a huge dissapointment, no portable press, no TV mm coins for sale and by Sunday sold out of the b mm coins. Also no anda mint sets.

I got to meet, bm1947(Barry, Sap(Stephen) brissyboy(Wayne) fairdeal(Klaus) and compassnorth not to mention the usual dealers.

Overall it was great to go, personally I was kicking myself becuase I forget to grab a few things from my wish list.

i am interested to hear other members opinion of the day.

Sure, I had a great show - I'm still sitting here at the computer, sorting and filing the new acquisitions. Managed to knock a few things off the wantlist (which I'll get around to editing shortly) but I still spent way too much on "non-wantlist" stuff.

From the club perspective, it wasn't as good as previous years: I don't think any of the participating clubs signed up any new members, though there were several expressions of interest. Still, we raised some money for the club through volunteering, raffle tickets and sale of club items.

It was also great to meet KLD, Brissyboy and a few other folks from here and the Aussie forum. See you all there next year!

Yep another one gone....spent more $$$$ than I should have, met a number of forum members (see KLD's post above) and missed out on the MYO "B" mintmark 50 years of Television due to the RAM not bringing the portable press.

O'well start saving for next years.
