I found this cent in circulation a few years ago and would like to know if it is an error or not. I don't think it is post mint damage because the reverse shows no sign of damage at all.
I'd like to know what you all think. Thanks.

Yes it is! You have an indent strike coin, caused when two planchets overlap as they are struck. The mate to this one would be ~90% off center on the obverse with a uniface reverse. Having both coins makes for a nice error set but IMO you have the better half of the set. Not sure on a value but I would guess at least $5.

Thanks bio, I couldn't figure out the circumstance that would cause this kind of an error, but what you describe makes sense.
