That depends on the coin but mostly I like older business strikes that have some circulation wear VF20-EF45

i like nice uncirculated Business Strikes with lots of mint luster especially a nice red lincoln

All things being equal, proofs would be my favorite. Since all things are not equal though, MS or PL coins ideally with a heavy cameo.

I like the business strike coins the best if they have cameo, heavy cameo, or ultra heavy cameo that's even better.

On Canadian coins, specimen. On U.S. coins, business strike.

I like the Business Strike finish on coins. I consider circulation coinage what collecting is all about. I find the Mint siply puts out too much of this junk that just depreciates in value the longer you own it!
Circulation coins are Classics and always hold their true significance in value and Canadian traditional Numismatic collecting.

That's kind of what I was getting at Glenzy. The NCLT coins are of the best technical quality, but there's very little challenge in collecting them, and they nearly uniformly lose value over the first couple years.
