Why it is that the lower numbers 1 through 10 are preferred by collectors as opposed to the last number in limited edition sets. I purchased this 2004 year of the monkey stamp and coin set limited edition of 8000 and when I unwrapped it and checked the number I was pleasantly surprised to see it was the last one in this set at #8000 All opinions and thoughts are appreciated.
I've always figured that limited edition collector sets are most wanted in the lower numbers. It's sort of like a NASCAR race, better to be #1 than last!
