1996 PL Set Significance? - Coin Community Forum

chadcoins Pillar of the Community Canada 1160 Posts	Posted 08/22/2009 1:55 pm In 1996 the finish was changed on the coins to a brilliant relief - parallel finish background.The Pliofilm package continued.Mintage of 120,217 sets.They also contained the near 5ct/nickle.These sets always seem to bring a slight premium due to the type of coins.Some of these sets have a very nice doubled dated Loon dollar in them. TheForce Pillar of the Community United States 4870 Posts	Posted 08/23/2009 1:53 pm I find it interesting that the 1996 twoonie wasn't included in the PL set and the 1987 loonie wasn't included in that years PL set.
