Can you explain what you mean by "flared I"? Which 'I' is it? Does this method of determining NSF or SF hold true for all denominations, or just for the $.50?

The best way to tell, is by the shape of the letter "I" in the word "DEI".A flared "I" means no fold the straight "I" means there is a fold.
