Did Mexico 5 Peso Silver Coins Circulate?

karrlot Pillar of the Community United States 535 Posts	Posted 08/23/2009 7:02 pm I've got two 5 peso coins from Mexico from the 50's. They are .6431 ASW. I can't figure out which book to put these in. Where these circulating or just NCLT bullion pieces? Report this Post to the Staff

At least, the Krause catalogues give prices down to VF; that's usually a good sign that the coins were intended for circulation. The Mexicans have always been keen to see silver coins circulate. Their silver lobby has been quite effective, in that regard.
