Hi @ all,

on the package it says that 4000 units are made and only 2000 in this presentation. I do have one with a COA no. below 2000 and one saying 3885. Both are the same package, same coin etc. so the same presentataion.

Interesting is also that it says on the back 'packaged by Downies'. I was under the impression that it all was done by the RAM.

Has anybody more info on the those 2 issues?

It was a special order from the mint by Downies.
Two versions were made proof and specimen.
The original 1000 gold version was a big sell out success and now selling with high premium, so Downies had seen the opportunity to commission the mint for a silver version, also doing well specially the proof selling currently double of the already high issue price.

I dont no about the special presentation version, but seial nubers not always indicate the first 2000 coins, specialy if it was commissioned order. Once it was packaged you don't now the serial numbers until every box is opened.
I have coins with higher serial numbers that the total mintage, because the unsold coins were returned and melted down.

I think you are missing the pointhere, maybe you read the text on the package. I have heard your answer before from Downies which is not satisfying. None of these coins will be melted, that is for sure. The point is it says that only 2000 PROOF coins will be presented that way and I am telling you that 4000 coins will be presented that way. So another lates call it 'story' about a K@S coin told that one person could not argue about as you wouldneed 2001 people at least...Take the 2008 gold one, similar thing altogether, it cam out with a 3-set of other bulion coins...

Any news of a 2010 release? I can't imagine 2009 was a 1 year issue.
