I am having a hard time finding the difference between the premier silver proof set and the regular silver proof set.

Can somebody help me out? It was only minted for a few years In the 90s according to cdn.

The Premier Sets are basically the same thing as a regular Silver Proof set, there is no difference in the finish but they do have a spiffy black velvet presentation/display case.

I thought the premiere sets had an additional coin or two you could not get in the regular set? The commemoratives for that year or something?

Bullnuke, I believe you are thinking of the Prestige sets.

I have three of them (1988, 1990, 1991). My mother bought them from the mint for me as birthday presents. Not sure what was going in in 1989, but she did not get me one that year.

Jbuck:

I'm sure you probably already have , but if not, check your 1990S Prestige Set for the NO "S" on the penny.

If you only knew how many times that I have checked that set!

As a matter of fact, I checked it as recently as last week because of this thread; hoping that I jumped to some alternate reality where mine was one that had the missing mint mark!

Bummer!

I know what you mean, I must have looked at all my 92P LMC's for the Close AM I don't know how many times- like by magic the A & M are going to "Migrate" and touch each other. (LOL)

We are an obsessive bunch!

It has been said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

I am clearly insane!
