New To Collecting..have Question About 2010 Olympics Coin!

Steph_260 New Member Canada 6 Posts	Posted 08/27/2009 11:47 am Hi everyone, I am new to this site, and new to coin collecting in general. What a great resource this place is! Anyway, I have a general question that I hope someone may be able to answer... I picked up a 2010 Olmpics coin from ebay...it's the Alpine Skiing 'mule' in the Petro Canada card...however, whilst the card does not looked tampered with, the coin itself almost looks like it is a 'double' coin. What I mean there is, it looks like two coins almost glued together...is that normal? I feel like there are two 'rims' joined together or something.... Please help with this mystery! I don't want to cut the card open unless I really have to! Thanks. Report this Post to the Staff

Mine does look like that, but to clarify....mine appears to have a plastic type 'bubble' effect over the side with the skiing image. Almost like a raised surface. That doesn't bother me much and I believe that is right. However, if you look at the coin side-on in the packet, it appears like there are two coins 'stuck together', two rims appear to be visible. I so wish I could take a photograph of this to show you clearly, but I don't have a camera at the moment! Again, the plastic card that holds the coin appears to be un-tampered with to my eyes. Having looked at your own coin, does what I'm decribing make sense? Or do I have to report the seller as making fraudulent mules?!?! I just don't have anything to compare mine against.
