I believe there were some varieties in 1965. And '62-'67 are silver.

The '67s were really what got me interested in coin collecting as a child. There weren't many commemorative coins circulating then, so these really stood out. The designer, Alex Colville (a world reknowned painter), lives very close to me. His work is amazing. Technically perfect.

Anyway, as mentioned, the varieties are in the '65 set. These are all terrific sets to have though. Also, someone more interested in varieties may have more information for you.

Several varieties exist. As expected when an obverse is changed (young to mature queen, 1964 to 1965), the mint produces several variations until they get it right. Same thing occured in 1953 with SF/NSF.

For dollar coins, known varieties are:
1) Small vs large beads on the outer rim of the 1965 obverse.
2) Small vs large beads also exist in 1966
3) A detached rear jewel on the tiara + medium beads also exist to complicate matters further in 1965
4) Blunt vs pointed "5" in 1965 date
5) The 1967 Dollar comes in concave and flat fields on the obverse side

Varieties 1) and 4) apply to 1 cent coins.

No known varieties for 5, 10, 25 and 50 cent coins.

The silver coins are 10, 25, 50, and $1.00 coins.
The silver content is:
The 10 cent coin = 2.33 grams.
the 25 cent coin = 5.83 grams.
the 50 cent coin =11.66 grams.
the $1.00 coin =23.33 grams.

Those are the gross coin weights. Take the total and multiply by 0.8 (80% pure silver) and you get
1.1 ounces of silver per set.
