Is there any reason I shouldn't clean this coin? I have some other Reichspfennigs but this one has the least amount of wear, just a oxidation and what not. I'm pretty sure this isn't a rarity but I'm still new to coin collecting.

I'm not at home at the moment, so I can not look this up. But if memory serves me, this may be an iron example.
So cleaning is out of the question. You should keep it the way it is.
I will look it up tonight if no one else responds prior.

This is a common 1 Pfennig Berlin mint. It's not recommended to clean any coin, just leave it as is.

This coin is actually made of zinc. Even if you could clean it, I imagine it would revert back it's current patina rather quickly as it reacts with carbon dioxide found in the air. Besides, the tarnished layer actually prevents further deterioration of the coin.

Ja, as they say above, cleaning Zinc isn't always a good idea - the layer of oxidisation is a GOOD thing. BUT if youre determined (and have some lesser examples laying round that you dont care about), try soaking them in Vinegar (bubbles will appear as the oxidisation is dissolved) for a few hours, then clean them, then soak in olive oil (to neutralise any remaining vinegar), clean again...

I would then recommend some sort of lacquer or air tight protection - the oxidisation will begin again almost immediately!
