dated 1849 weighs in at 3.1 grams
No clue on what it is.

It certainly isn't gold. It is corroding. I'll guess it is an old token. Nice find!

I think it might be a Half Cent the someone ground down the reverse and than carved a person panning for gold.

After searching around ebay a bit...this is a goldrush token
In this condition, I may as well toss it in the recycle bin.

Maybe I will but it on ebay as super duper uber rare with a 1,000,000$ BIN...with a best offer
And take the first best offer I bet somebody will buy it.
