I know this a dumb question but...

Does taking coins out of their original packaging effect their value?
eg:
Coins-Out-Of-Their-Original-Packaging-Effect-Their-Value?

maybe I've been watching too much antiques road show.

As long as there are no scratches marks rubs and it still looks like a nice coin I think it is OK, but the better grader a person is the better. For resale it might be better to get it graded?

I travel light - no packages, boxes or papers. All my coins are in archival grade display/storage or CCCS hard slabs

As far as commerative coins, specifically Canadain commerative silver dollars, theres no way I would agree to paying a standard trends value of any coin of this nature, without the original clam shell case.
For that kind of stuff like what is posted above, I agree with everyones comments.

Sometimes when selling you get more money for selling a coin individually rather than selling it as a set.

I broke out the ones from that series and others and have them in my quarter set as a separate collection.Unfortunately I don't hold much hope for worry about there value going up.Some are interesting and pretty low mintage. Who knows maybe they will get popular someday, In the mean time enjoy any way you like.
