Does anyone have any idea what this medallion is. It is about he size of a silver dollar and I know Avicenna was a compilation of medical procedures, etc, but that is pretty much it. The coin does seem to have some age to it.

G'day, Avicenna was a person. This appears to be medallion commemorating his acheivements.
My guess is that the man himself is represented by the bloke in the big hat.
I wouldn't be surprized if this medallion might have been part of a set, and some of the other medallions may have commemorated Galen, Hippocrates, etc.
