That is a bad sign mkb, can I still get one of those coins with the cartoon moose wearing sunglasses!?!?! LOL I would say a little paring down of NCLT is just what the doctor ordered.

1 cent, I agree. Some of the product coming out of the mint is brutal (i.e., for example the olympic mascot coins). The excessive premiums being charged for many NCLT issues is only reinforcing declining demand. I would expect that the mint's NCLT department will shrink in the future, and that the number of NCLT issues will be reduced. The process already seems to be underway.

Quote: IBGOLDEN......you did well it seems..........1 in a row of NCLT. Maybe 5 in 20 years? Odds not good was my point. coinsrfun The odds are very bad, but if you wait for the RCM premium prices to evaporate over time with collectors re-selling,you may get a better deal, but don't wait too long, or the object of your desire just might not show up for sale More than 1 in a row... and too lazy to post any others. Compare prices on what you would like to own... shop around and see what the market will bear. I think we have all made at least one purchase where we've felt we may have over paid a tad, but just really required that piece... satisfying that collecting urge. ... and this from someone who refuses to pay over a few percent over spot for most purchases If you are contented with your purchase you've paid just enough.

This coin has proved difficult to price. I can't seem to find any for sale.

This is true, nothing for sale. But, if someone will want to sell it now, by setting the CAD 3000 (issue price) - I not sure that seller will find the buyers. Check out this: Quote: The excessive premiums being charged for many NCLT issues is only reinforcing declining demand. I would expect that the mint's NCLT department will shrink in the future, and that the number of NCLT issues will be reduced. The process already seems to be underway. The first part - true and relevant today as well. Has been the amount of issues decreased? No way. It doubled.

Just buy bars for investment, the NCLT has too much premium built in already.

This coin has proved difficult to price. I can't seem to find any for sale. J&M has it available for $3,495 CAD.

Any NCLT with an high issue price like this Platinum at $3000 should not be considered an "investment" because it is very hard to find another buyer willing to pay the price.
Similar to the 1 Kilo coins, people should buy these high priced coins only for their personal collection, with no expectation of price appreciation.
