I am quite new to coin collecting and one of my interests was to have the 1935 silver canadian dollar. Now it's in the mail and on it's way. I can't wait to have it in my hands. So I know how much it's valued by the Charlton Standard Catalogue. I would like some feedback from you all about what you think about the rating of the coin. By the picture, do you feel that MS-64 reflects what you see ? Report this Post to the Staff

On the obverse at least, it's only a couple marks away from MS-65, the one extending from the nose being the primary detractor that I can see. If you are new to collecting, take the Charlton (or CCN Trends) with a grain of salt right now. An awful lot of coins are going for 50-70% of book value in this current situation, so it is a great time to go bargain hunting! Report this Post to the Staff

1cent Pillar of the Community Canada 1051 Posts	Posted 09/28/2009 10:27 pm 54% with the juice and shipping fees in is pretty good I'd say. As far as I know, ICCS grades about 80% weighted on the obverse side, whereas other grading houses might strike more of a balance between obverse and reverse. Report this Post to the Staff

I bought a 1935 silver dollar ICCS ms-64 on ebay couple months ago for 60 % of price. that's a real nice coin! laserpete New Member 43 Posts	Posted 09/29/2009 8:07 pm I didn't get it off E-bay. But thanks SilverMaple. I was on icollector.com aution. For the moment I only wanted the 1935 dollar. Now that the wife knows how much I spent in the last 3 months on coins(Canadian Mint collections, US proofs set + Silver Eagle in the mail) I have to enjoy what I got for now Will start up again after X-mas. But will continue looking at my spare change to fill up my 1,5,10,25,$1,$2 for each year and of course the olympic quarters. Report this Post to the Staff
