1988-D Lincoln Memorial Cent / LMC Doubled Die Obverse / DDO ?

John1 Moderator United States 56855 Posts	Posted 09/30/2009 7:19 pm I opened four rolls of '88-D LMC that I put away in '88 and found three of these. Would like to know for sure if it's a DDO or not. Texas collector Valued Member United States 369 Posts	Posted 10/01/2009 12:56 am At first I thought this was one of those "ghost dates" where the date appears to have moved, leaving an indention to one side. (Not sure what that effect is really called) But there are lots of them from 88, 89, 90. This, however, looks a bit more complex. Of course I'm no expert, but I think it's very possible it's a DDO. foundinrolls Pillar of the Community United States 3507 Posts	Posted 10/01/2009 3:31 pm A better picture would help, but they appear to exhibit Machine Doubling. On the doubled dies, the lower right of the 8s look bigger. They don't look like that on these coins. Try for better picture. Thanks, Bill Report this Post to the Staff
