pay the return shipping? I mean, not if it's an honest disagreement, but if they flagrantly neglect to mention a cleaning, flaw not obvious in the pictures, etc. or even send the entirely wrong coin.

I've had sellers actually send the wrong coin that was different than the picture, and tell me I should pay the return shipping because "I should have known based on the description". Utter nonsense, if you ask me. I didn't neg these people (I think it was only two so far) but threatened to if they made my waste $10 on their mistake. I mean, if I made an honest error, I'd definitely pay for someone's return shipping...doesn't really make sense to blame someone for your mistake. And many sellers do do this and are nice about it, it's just annoying how some are all high and mighty.

I've probably been blocked from both those sellers but meh oh well. I also once had a seller fail to mention a cleaning, make me pay return shipping, then relist it as 'problem free' even after I said that it's cleaned. Should have left a neg in that case probably, haha. Besides that though, I'm okay with paying return shipping if it's just some minor thing or a disagreement, but not if it's a flagrant error on their part.

What do you do with this?

Yep, I pay shipping.

Even if the seller is at fault. I pay shipping. Not about fair or any particular preference for what should or should not be included in the transaction. Feelings of entitlement or inclusion in any transaction only leads to ruffled feathers. It is sometimes a downer but just the way it works.

I generally don't bother with lower priced coins. I just move on with life and avoid the seller. On higher dollar transactions generally shipping is the least of the worries. Customer service kicks in and there are rarely issues over who is paying it. If I ever have an issue then I return the property and let the seller either include it or not.

I had to do this with a phone, the ad said the ESN was clear (Verizon) but when it arrived I couldnt activate it because the ESN was on the lost list but to get my money back I had to ship it back to the seller. If you go through paypal they make you send it back before they will give you a refund and you have to ship it a way they can prove it was delivered
