Yes it is "hush hush" because thy consider their treatments proprietary. If they talked about what treatments they used others might set up competing businesses.

What Conder said! They would never give out their secrets to conservation.

I'm sure NCS uses more than just solvent soaks. As a chemist, I can make educated guesses at some of the processes they use. It's a topic I've put a lot of thought into. Some possibilities:

- bubbling specific gases like hydrogen or carbon dioxide over the coin
- applying controlled heat with inert gas purging
- good old carbon powder, heating and boiling

I wish I had the time and equipment to experiment with some of the techniques I suspect they use.
