I have a question. How does one quote on this forum? Sorry it is a stupid question, but I couldn't help asking. - coincrazed

Back when the forum started, there used to be a button to click to make quoting automatic. But people over-used it, quoting entire posts and threads when only a single sentence would have sufficed. It was deemed to be causing too much duplication and would in the end chew up server space unnecessarily. So now, you have to do quoting manually.

If you're in the "reply to Topic" box (with the smilies down one side) the "quote" button is still there, second from the right (with the little red arrow on it). But all it does is insert the
and
boxes. You still have to manually cut-and-paste the text you want to quote in between the boxes.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
