I think it's a Byzantine trachy...12-13th C? I'm sure you'll hear more/better info soon.

DVCollector is correct it is a Byzantine Trachy (cup coin). Can't see enough detail on who the emperor is. Could be Manuel I 1143-1180. This is the reverse of the coin which is usually has better detail than the obverse.
