I saw the coin at CNA in Ottawa (CanCoin News published my picture with it) - I wasnt impressed. Granted - it is a lot of gold ... so?

I held in my hands the BC gold patterns - THAT was impressive! The 1921 50 cents is impressive, the "Best Ever" $2 of NFL is an impressive set

This thing is just a PR stunt. The only impressive thing about it is the production process

So in round numbers the coin is worth about 3,731,566 at the current price of gold..

Can some one send me one of these for Christmas?

or maybe a set of two?

No wonder they are having a well-insured, high-security tour

Maybe it was not accounted for and is part of the gold missing at the Mint.

It's impressive because it is bar-none the most valuable Canadian coin that exists. That's about it. It's attractive if you like the design of the five-nines Maples, too.

It will be interesting to see how it auctions for. Hard to beat a total mintage of 5 coins. Have any been made since 2007?
Rest in Peace

I'm leaning more and more towards circulated coinage.
