Appears to be bronze and is between the size of a USA cent and a nickel. The mixture of Arabic and western numbers is baffling; I thought it might be one of the -istan countries, especially Afghanistan with the mosque on the reverse, but after searching through Krause, I concede defeat. I need to find a copy of "Arabic for Dummies"!

I have several of them dated from 1998-2005, so I don't believe that they're not fairly common, and in fact they are CoinStar rejects. Help!

Pakistan, right?

(too new for my old Krause, but I believe I'm correct)

I'm not sure my Krause has this one.
However, judging by the hat he's wearing, I'll guess Afghanistan.

Update: DL20K was right--Pakistan. (Although Hamid Karzai does wear that hat)

Right, Pakistan 1 rupee - KM #62. Discovered it about 5 minutes after posting here. No quarter-moon nor star on this coin, which kept me from looking at listings for Pakistan, but when I went back to my CoinStar siftings I discovered KM #63, which has a similar reverse and the ubiquitous moon and star. Thanks for your help, guys. (Photo is badly cropped because instead of deleting my original image entirely I substituted a larger one. Duh.)

Pakistan, 1 rupee. The use of Arabic and Western numbers is due to British colonization history. The pictured man's name is Mohammad Ali Jinnah, he is considered to be "the Father of the nation".
