"The Official American Numismatic Association Grading Standards for United States coins" is predominately black and white, but it does have 16 pages of color. The color pages really do not help in grading.

I have the PCGS, ANA (6th edition), and Photograde (19th edition) grading books. I generally refer to the ANA book the most often. It has the most specific descriptions of each grade and the pictures are better than Photograde. If I am unsure about a grade, I'll refer to the PCGS book as well. Photograde is a new purchase, but I'm not that impressed with it so far but I haven't had a chance to read much of it.
