Has anyone seen anything on what the design of the 2010 penny will look like? Will it be Abe? Will it be a permanent design? Anything? Once again the Mint has failed to check with me before making decisions. I can't be held responsible...  |

I don't know, but there was some proposed design with just the flag in the middle and the legends around the outside. It looked amateurish as heck. Hopefully, they found something better.

I can't find anything! I don't think they've chosen a final design. (although I thought I saw sometime back that they chose a shield design, I can't find anything now)

LP18 (wheat stalks) has been thrown out (looks too much like some foreign coin design so they axed it). Then there was 17
Edit: The coins similar in design to Communist Era (German 1-pfennig coin from 1936, and a 1948 coin from Czechoslovakia)

I think I prefer one of the eagle designs. Plus I'd rather see ONE CENT instead of 1¢.

I wonder what the mintage for these new coins will be next year... AKA when will we start finding them in circulation...
And I'm not a fan of any of the designs really. Easy for me to say though, because I'm not an artist.
