my dad recently got the coin and chronicles set, and the coins all have stains and spotting. He wants to return it, but he didn't see the 7 day return policy. so do they 2009 cent normal proof sets have the same composition in the coin and chronicles set? thanks for any help.

He shouldn't return it anyway - they won't replace it as they have none left, they'll only do a refund.

Or maybe instead of returning it, he can try and sell it. There are plenty of people who'd pay above the purchase price.

Because it's not an individually immaculate PR70 Deep Cameo perfect coin Set, isn't a good enough reason for sending this one back ! Remember, the "spotting" is common and is something A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING TO DEAL WITH !
I would much rather have a "spotted Cent" L.C.& C. Set, than not have one AT ALL ! ....... keep that in mind !
I wouldn't want the refund......I'd keep the Set !

Or......as discussed in a previous thread.....You can just buy a Proof Cent Set (the four Coppers only)......and then replace those "spotted Cents"....IF they bother you that much.....and as mentioned....it IS the same coin.

I am lucky enough to have a C&C set with good coins, but if the cents were spotty, I would not hesitate swapping them with the ones from my proof set.
