I started working on a jefferson set last week with some old coins that I had and some I recently kept while searching some rolls. Anyway, I bought a dansco to keep them in. I also bought a few to fill some of the holes; anyway to my question. I bought a 1971S proof (beautiful coin) and there is not a hole for it in the dansco. Am I missing something?

It depends on which Dansco album you have. Some of them are designed to only hold the business strikes, and some hold both the business strikes and the proofs. Does you album have holes for the 72-S, 73-S etc? If so then there is something wrong with the album. If not then you have the business strike album. (San Francisco did strike coins for circulation in 68, 69, and 70 so there are holes for the S mint for those dates in both albums.

Thanks, I have a business strike. I guess I can add a page for the proofs. Thanks again.

That is what I did.

For some reason, the 8113 album does not have a place for both business strike and proof 1968-S to 1971-S Jefferson nickels (at least this was the case in 1985 when I was buying my album). I opted to buy a 7113 and add an extra page just for the proof nickels.

For what it is worth, the full page of proof nickels looks amazing.
