Ok, besides the obivious answer, what am I doing wrong. When trying to upload a pic I get the following error message:
Error: Filenames must not be blank, contain spaces, or contain any special characters. Letters and numbers only please.
When I browse my computer for a pic in the file name appears;
D:Mydocuments\Mypictures\2009_11_20\87CC
Do I need to remove the semi colon and backslashes and underscores to make this work?

After uploading the picture the name of the file doesn't really matter. The simpler the name of your file is, the better. If you have problem uploading, cancel it, try again, and before the final click, right-click on the file and choose "rename". Delete all the spaces, symbols, etc. (Or you could go into the folder before trying to upload and simplify the name of the file there.)

It won't upload due to the error message and in the folder the pic is just titled 87CC

Make sure there's no invisible spaces either before or after the name. (I just tested uploading for myself and it worked.) When you are uploading the pic, when you open it, just before clicking "upload" button, make sure you see the name in the dialog window appears as 87CC.jpg , not "D:Mydocuments\Mypictures\2009_11_20\87CC.jpg"

In my limited experience on this board, you get that message when the file is too large.

it may be those underscores that look like this _ that is stopping the pictures from loading, just name it something else and do not put any special characters in the file name. is the file you are trying to upload named 87CC.jpg and the folder name is 2009_11_20? if so this may not be the problem either but we will need to know the name and the file extension also to find what the problem is
