I just bought two of these beautiful silver coins yesterday, a '44 and a '52, at an auction and the '44 has an "S" above the year, what does it mean? thank you
G'day, "S" means that this coin was minted in San Francisco; "D" for Denver; these two mints made silver coins for Oz for a few years in WW2. in the 1950s, some silver coins for Oz were made in the U.K. Peter in Oz
