Congratulations, Moe. When I finished my Liberty Head Nickel set back in 1994, I decided to start a set of Barber dimes and I selected a Dansco album as well...and you're right...there is no hole for the 1894-S. { I wouldn't have bought the book if it had a 94-S opening ! } I completed the collection and moved on to the Quarters and eventually the Half Dollars. Once the Halves were completed, I went back to the Dimes, but this time in PCGS certified [ ave grade is AU 58 ] and this second set is completed as well with all major die varieties. I just returned from FUN and while there, I left my raw set at PCGS to holder. Maybe I'll get a few upgrades from my raw set ? That would be great.

Congratulations back to you Mike! A great accomplishment and a great collection! A number of these coins will be upgraded in the future. That's the fun part!
Now a question for you: What's FUN? (Where you just returned from?)

Congrats, nice set. I'm a long way from completing this one but seeing someone else's completed set is part of the appeal for me. I tend to put a set aside for awhile, work on another, get the itch to re-engage, then go about trying to fill all the holes...it's a never ending cycle!

I have been working on mine for some time. I need only 3 holes to fill, but have been trying to go VF+ whenever I can afford to. I have 40+/73ish in VF or above. The back page is stunning, minus the empty 1903-S spot...

Moe - I'm glad that others told you about FUN - its one of the largest and best coin shows in the country. Its usually in Orlando at the Orange County Convention Center on International Drive. There is also a Summer FUN - a newer venture for Florida United Numismatics - which has been in West Palm Beach up and until this July - where it will be held in the Orlando convention center - mentioned above. Next year - in early January - the Winter FUN show will be held in Tampa - and if you have a chance to make it to a Winter FUN show - please do - its like you've died and gone to Coin Heaven ! I brought my raw Barber dime collection to FUN and displayed it at a friend's table - and in the very near future, its going to be submitted to PCGS for grading. The holes you see are because I had a few coins graded - or - I didn't want to crack out for the album. [ My 1895-O is in a PCGS 58 holder - and it was just too valuable to crack out; I have a few other PCGS coins cracked out and placed in the Dansco. ] Here are a couple of full photo shots of the set... Another friend will be doing each coin's images once the set gets back from PCGS.

Amazing set Mike. Your middle initial wouldn't be F, would it? I think these look familiar...

Rustyboy - I posted these images at PCGS - Mega Barber Thread as well as at NGC. Yes, my middle initial is F.
All of my sets are under Michael F. Hayes at PCGS - or - under the name "Elbesaar" at NGC - and a few at PCGS as well.

Great set.
I have been working on upgrading mine to all high grade (XF, AU, or uncs) for years.
And I know how hard that set is.
Congrats.
I have about 5 that I'd like to upgrade, generally form F or VF to AU's, but we know how hard they are to find.
The same with the quarters, altho I doubt that I'll ever get the '01 S in a high grade.
The quarters I'd like to upgrade about 12 pieces, but-- hey the hunt is half the fun.

Mike Hayes! Man, that is an IMPRESSIVE set of Barbers!! Every one of them looks great! That's the way to stick to a High Quality set! I love all the toning these coins take on at times too! Nice, nice, nice!
