While looking through some auctions found this. Some one did a good job making this into a hat...

I've run across those on ebay in the Aus coin section Just search for "slouch hat"
I just hope there isn't a 1925, 1931 dropped 1 Calcutta, etc. pressed into that shape.

Yep, you often see those sold at tourist-type places, sometimes made into keyrings or some such. I'd classify it as "imitation trenchart", since it's almost certainly of modern manufacture and not made by idle soldiers during WWII.

I bought one just before ANZAC Day this year, at the sausage sizzle outside Bunnings.
There was a card came with it, informing me that I was supporting some worthwhile cause ...
Anyway, I made sure that I got my birth year. As I recall, they were mostly KG6 & QE2.

for Kurt: the greatest non-numismatic use of KG5 pennies is in making "Swy" or Two-Up sets - There is a theory that KG5 pennies are better balanced than the Kangaroos, and thus give closer to a 50-50 distribution of heads & tails.

Peter, out of curiosity I read about Two-Up--that's interesting game and history!
