I'm not really sure what the value of this coin would be as the 1949 is not mentioned in trends. But if you look at other years of George VI 10 cent coins that are double dated they do demand a higher premium than the regular one's (in trends). The reason for slabbing is for protection of the coin as well as proof of it's grade for people who have a hard time grading coins and can't seem to believe anyone who can grade coins unless it is professionally slabbed and graded by one of the top three grading companies. I do have like and collect double dated coins in all denominations the higher the grade the better.
