Got the statement from our detecting account today total funds in the account $861.88 Still have about $30 waiting to be rolled. Here are the keepers and the silver Purchased using the account over the last 2 years. When I was told the detector would pay itself off over 2 years I was thinking 'yeah right!' but in two years we have found enough to pay off both detectors and purchase better models should we so desire. I am not advocating metal detecting as a hobby as it seems we do way better than most (plus I don't want the competition) but it gets us out of the house and would seem to turn a tidy profit.

I was wondering,is the cable from the disk to the console as to be loose or tight on the Ace 250.

Not get get off topic, but...how much does quality of the detector really matter? And what is the difference? detect deeper or more sensitive? I know you get what you pay for and all but just curious.
Back to topic, I am very jelous. I think I have 10 hours in this past summer and found 3 pennies and some junk. Think that is why I started roll searching ha ha. But way to go. I have a cheap detector and havent even paid for the batteries ha ha.

Andre1621 Keep the cable as tight as you can if its loose it will give you false hits at the end of each swing. I wrap it as tight around the pole as I can the use Velcro every 5 inches to make sure it does not move. Took me a long time to work out why I was getting false hits all the time.
MattDrew I think the operator is just as important as the detector. You have to take the time to get to know your machine. Mine is supposed to be an entry level machine but I think I do pretty well with it. I have tried some higher end models but I don't think I have reached the limits of my current machine so I have no plans to upgrade.

If I were to go out regularly to a park every other weekend will I find as many hot wheels? J/K
That pile of silver is impressive. I hope to be as lucky, any tips? I'm planning on ordering a ACE 250 in the upcoming weeks.

I would think you and the wife would be poster children for Metal Detecting. Great work. Love the large silver...

this is a little older thread but it just goes to show I need to get out more once I get back from Iraq. Any hobby that would add that many more cars to my Son's stockpile would be ok with him!

From the land of the Bluenose.....nice silver. Good way to spend the clad. Dig enough of it here each year to pay for my flights to the UK. Nice winter project tumbling and rolling coins.
