I got hold of one yesterday, it has a dot above Rama VI's head, whats the significance? I seem to remember reading about it once,
but don't have a Krause where I am. Nothing on the net, or maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.

There's nothing in my Krause about a "dot over the king's head" for that date, or any date.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

Other than the engraved wording around the periphery of the obverse, there will 'never' be any intentional object, design or mark placed above the head of the King.
Without seeing the coin in question, I would suggest that the 'dot' is either a die chip or carbon bubble.
